My name is Dave and I'm a landscape photographer based in New Jersey. Growing up, I always had a connection to the outdoors, just in a very different way than I do now. Summers were spent at the Jersey Shore, and trips usually meant going to a beach resort with my family or skiing in upstate New York. Travel was familiar. Easy. If you told a younger version of me what my idea of travel would eventually turn into, I would’ve told you you were crazy.

In 2020, a trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons lit a fire in me that I didn’t even realize was missing. Long hikes, big days, and quiet moments surrounded by landscapes way bigger than me completely changed how I saw the outdoors. Then a few years later, a week-long road trip through Utah to see all five national parks really locked it in. What used to feel like an escape started to feel like the way I actually wanted to experience the world.

All of a sudden I preferred sleeping in vans instead of resorts. Carrying heavy packs instead of suitcases. Hiking long miles into the backcountry while chasing light, weather, and moments you can’t plan for. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the beach, but what really pulls me in now is standing somewhere remote, feeling small, and knowing I earned the view.

Photography became the natural extension of all of that. I’ve always loved capturing moments, but combining that with this deeper connection to the outdoors gave it real meaning. I can’t always explain the feeling of standing at an overlook watching the sun disappear, but I can try to share that feeling through my photos. Photography slows me down. It forces me to notice details, stay present, and respect the places I’m lucky enough to experience.

I get outside to see new places, find balance, and reconnect. Not just with nature, but with myself. I take photos to share the beauty of this world and hopefully inspire other people to step outside their comfort zones and chase experiences of their own. Because for me, life is about experiences, and those experiences are what give everything meaning.
