South from San Blas I was wanting to spend the night in Sayulita. I had visited the small community some years back and remembered what a sleepy little town it was. Well not anymore, I guess the word got out! It was bumper to bumper tour buses and no place to park. I checked out a couple of lodging options but neither offered secure (off street) parking. After about an hour I gave up and hit the highway south again continuing through Puerto Vallarta south on Hwy 200.
As the sun was going down I stopped and quickly booked a casita in El Tuito for the night. It was expensive but turned out to be a great stay. The couple that owned it were Canadians and had a beautiful house with a couple of apartments off to the side. Most gracious hosts and their hot tub felt so wonderful after a very, very long day on the bike.
Then back to the coast. I plan on taking Hwy 80 east to Lake Chapala so booked a few days in San Patricio or Melaque, it has a few different names. Thought this would be a good place to hang out for a few days until after Christmas then I’ll continue on.
